Event Descriptions

Mentor-Mentee Workshop

Workshops

R-Ladies R Workshop (1.5-2 hours):

Ever wondered how those figures in papers look so cool? Come attend our workshop to learn some advanced ggplot skills to make those plots pop! We'll be covering aesthetics like coloring, text, and axis manipulation and some lesser known but cool plot types like stacked bar plots and violin plots among other topics. Bring your laptop and code along with us this Saturday from 2-4pm!

Location: Edmon Low Library (On Campus) - Room 206

Mentor/Mentee Workshop- 1 hour

This program is designed to encourage a more one-on-one conversation style in a setting with less pressure than a networking event. This is a conference of students, so a mentor-mentee conversation could be as simple as how graduate school works or as complex as answering the meaning of life (It's 42, by the way).  We're all students, so our Mentorship Program allows you to be both a mentor and a mentee. We encourage you to consider being a mentor to someone who may not have attended a conference before and may be looking for a conference buddy.

Location: SSH 035 (On Campus)

This interactive lab will help hone your skills and have you enjoy genetics in a positive environment!

Location: LSW 303 (On Campus) - Meet at First Floor Lobby of Life Sciences West (LSW)
